Tokio Myers Britain's Got Talent

I have just watched Tokio Myers performing on Britain's Got Talent. I must say the performance was simply beautiful. At the end of the show BGT reunited Tokio with this music teacher who saved him when he was younger after he witnessed his Head Teacher being stabbed.His teacher not only saved him from danger, he inspired him to take up music himself.
Tokio plays classical music but in a contemporary way.  I am so glad he is doing so well, he deserves to win the show.

It is in the true spirit of music that bands are undaunted by recent sad events. I am so pleased that other bands are joining in to make the day a truly wonderful event.
Humans at their best can be strong, loving and resilient and we can celebrate this!

Vampire Weekend, A-Punk

I absolutely love this band. Their music is so upbeat and really reminds me of the summer. This is a particularly uplifting one if you listen to it at a surface level but if you listen to the lyrics more carefully  they suggest sadness. Perhaps a loved one has died?The lyrics are so clever that lots of websites attempt to analyse their meaning.
Whatever the song is about, I absolutely love it!

I love this band.They play their instruments so well and their lyrics resonate with me.
This song stuck in my head and resurfaced today and I am so happy to share it with you now.

Declan McKenna on voting (and singing Isombard)

In my opinion Declan McKenna has his head screwed on and he writes brilliant songs.

I have pre-ordered his album and cannot wait for it to arrive.

Not only are his songs great, he is encouraging young people in UK to register to vote. They have until 22nd to do this if they want a say in the future of their country. Young people are our future and should be involved in making the decisions that will affect them more than anyone else living here.
He is campaigning to have the voting age reduced to 16. I agree with him. I work with teenagers a lot and they have such a fresh outlook on life and their voice should be heard.

I was listening to Later with Jools Holland
and a brilliant band came on. Naturally 7 use the human voice in an incredible way to create the sound of all the instruments. Their whole vibe was so upbeat and positive that I visited Youtube right away to hear more.

Fix You is one of my favourite songs by Coldplay.
